Overview
Jonathan M. Samet (Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Epidemiology) is an epidemiologist whose research focuses on air pollution, tobacco, and respiratory disease. He co-led the NMMAPS project with Dominici and Zeger, providing the epidemiological framework and data infrastructure for the 20-city air pollution–mortality study.
Key Contributions
- Co-designed and directed the National Morbidity, Mortality, and Air Pollution Study (NMMAPS), providing the 20-city database of daily death counts, PM₁₀, O₃, and meteorological data (Dominici-Samet-Zeger 2000).
