Overview

Robert C. Blattberg is a marketing scientist (Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Marketing at the University of Chicago at the time of the 1991 paper, later at Northwestern) known for pioneering the analysis of supermarket scanner data and for models of price and promotional effects. With Edward I. George he brought hierarchical-Bayes shrinkage to the estimation of chain-brand elasticities.
