Ali H. Mokdad is a Professor of Health Metrics Sciences at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), University of Washington, Seattle. He is corresponding author for the GBD 2021 US state-level burden of disease analysis (Lancet 2024) and lead author on the earlier GBD 2016 US analysis (JAMA 2018), making him the central figure in the IHME's subnational US health burden series.
