Demographer and global health researcher. At the time of Preston and Wang (2006), affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania Population Studies Center. Subsequently affiliated with the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington, where he contributes to the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) studies.

Key Contributions / Features

• Sex mortality differences and cohort smoking (Preston and Wang 2006): Co-author of the APC analysis demonstrating that U.S. sex mortality differences follow a cohort diagonal driven by differential smoking histories. See Period Mortality and SSA Mortality Forecasting.
