Overview
Richard M. Johnson was an American psychometrician and marketing-research methodologist (with the Procter & Gamble Company when he wrote his 1963 note; later a founder of Sawtooth Software), best known as a pioneer of conjoint analysis and adaptive conjoint methods.
Key Contributions / Features
- Proof of the Eckart-Young theorem (Johnson 1963): supplied the general proof of the SVD-existence ("basic structure") theorem that Eckart and Young had stated but not proved (Low-Rank Approximation).
