Key Contributions / Features
- Retirement age stickiness (Deshpande, Fadlon, and Gray 2021): Co-authored study of how the FRA increase from 65 to 66 (1983 Amendments) affected claiming vs. retirement behavior using SSA CWHS administrative data. Central finding: claiming shifts fully with the FRA; retirement is persistently sticky at the old FRA of 65 across a decade of post-reform cohorts. Employer norms are the most empirically supported mechanism. See Retirement Age Stickiness.
