Kermit Daniel is an economist at the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania). He is co-author with Dan Black and Seth Sanders of Black, Daniel, and Sanders (2002), which used the Appalachian coal boom and bust to estimate the causal elasticity of DI and SSI participation with respect to permanent labor market conditions.
