Seth Sanders is a labor economist (Duke University, formerly Carnegie Mellon). His research spans labor market inequality, disability program participation, and applied econometrics. He is co-author with Dan Black and Kermit Daniel of Black, Daniel, and Sanders (2002), the AER paper that used the Appalachian coal boom and bust to provide early causal evidence that permanent — not transitory — earnings changes drive disability program participation.
