Overview
Larry E. Jones is an economist at the University of Minnesota. His research spans endogenous growth theory and demographic economics, particularly the macroeconomics of fertility. He co-developed the Boldrin-Jones reverse-altruism fertility model with Michele Boldrin, and contributed the quantitative calibration and policy analysis in the published Journal of Demographic Economics version.

- Boldrin-Jones fertility model (with Michele Boldrin): Co-developed the reverse-altruism framework contrasting with the Barro-Becker dynasty model. In the Boldrin-Jones framework, parents have children for old-age support, so Social Security (SS) expansion crowds out fertility in general equilibrium (GE).
