Patrick M. Krueger is a sociologist at the University of Colorado Denver who studies the social determinants of health behaviors and mortality. He co-authored the Pampel, Krueger, and Denney (2010) Annual Review of Sociology synthesis on socioeconomic disparities in health behaviors, which proposed the nine-mechanism taxonomy and motives vs. means framework that has become the standard organizing scheme for the SES-behavior gradient literature.
